The Student Science Showcase

The Student Science Showcase is a district-wide science fair for students in grades 1 through 8. We are looking for science projects that relate to “green topics” – i.e. energy, environment, nature, conservation, pollution, etc.  If your child would enjoy presenting his/her work, we would love to have them. At the Showcase, science experts from the community will review the projects and talk to the students about their ideas.
If you are interested….
1.      Complete the application form by March 15, 2011 and email it to Kathy Bergholz, kjbergholz@att.net.  For a downloadable application, go to http://www.d181foundation.org/.
2.      Projects will be displayed from 10am -3pm.  All participating students must be able to attend the event from 11:30am – 12:30pm on April 9th, this is when the science experts will be reviewing the projects.  Projects may be dropped off at the office of your home school on April 6th and 7th (please wrap for transport), or brought to CHMS on April 9th, between 8am and 10am.
3.      We will provide a table; you’ll provide anything else needed for the display (do let us know if you’ll require electricity).
4.      A science project can be an observation, a collection, a research project, a model, or an experiment. If you’re unsure, please visit our website for tips on how to design science expo projects ( http://www.d181foundation.org/ ). You’ll also find information about general tips on project design, safety, and common do’s and don’ts;
Please note that submitting a previously shown project is just fine (“recycling” is endorsed here). A project needn’t be glitzy or complicated to send a message.

We hope you’ll join us for a fun and educational experience for all.
